Tutkimus osaamiskartoituksen luotettavuuden parantamisesta
(2021)
työntekijöiden osaamista ja millaiset erilaiset päätöksenteon ilmiöt voivat vaikuttaa arvioinnin tuloksiin. Lisäksi työssä käsitellään aiempaa tutkimustietoa ihmisen itsearvioinnin todenmukaisuuden parantamisesta ohjaamalla arvioijan tietoisuutta häntä itseään...
The aim of this thesis was to study debiasing judgement and decision making when a person makes self-assessment in a skills survey. The client needed to find out the level of competence of its staff. At the same time, experience had shown that there could be variation in the quality of self-assessments or inconsistencies in assessments and skills surveys. For the above reason, the study examined whether the reliability of the results of the self-assessment survey could be improved by modifying the decision-making environment or the so-called choice architecture to minimize the potential impact of biases in the evaluator's decision-making processes. The theoretical section of the thesis deals with why competence management is important for companies, who is best to evaluate the competence of employees and what different decision-making phenomena can affect the results of the evaluation. In addition, the work deals with previous research data on improving the veracity of a person's self-assessment by directing the assessor's awareness of himself or herself. The skills survey was conducted as a quantitative survey in the September of 2021. The group of respondents were divided into two groups which had different questionnaire forms. The first group had to write their name to the form at the beginning rather than at the end of the self-assessment. It was assumed that this activated the respondents’ attention to their selves, which in turn should result in more honest assessments. As a result of the study, it was found that the choice architecture difference between forms did not influence the assessments. However, the case company's goal was met, and the research result provided an opportunity to address various topics for further research. The results helped the case company’s executive team to make needed decisions based on the case company’s staff’s competence....
